This ancient Church, part of the Daventry Team Ministry, is set in the heart of the beautiful village of Ashby St Ledgers with many cottages thatched and several examples of Edwin Lutyens architecture.

It is a "Church Detectives" dream; Norman architecture, Tower and Font, are complemented by a 15C Rood Screen, unique floor brasses, Jacobean triple decker Pulpit and manorial and 18C box Pews. There is also a Minstrels Gallery.
Wall Paintings are numerous both Medieval and Georgian including a unique double depiction of
Our Lords Passion of which copies are lodged in the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The Skeleton, depicted as a sexton, is boldly painted on the Tower wall (West) and awaits the skill of the Conservator to bring back to life its companion "Old   father Time" on the North side of the Tower wall, which will then make the Momento Mori complete.

With Ashby St Ledgers Church being of such antiquity and with so many historical connections it needs Friends. This international, inter denominational organization was formed over ten years ago. Its aim is to unite in fellowship all those who value this historic Church and to seek by prayer and financial support to maintain and strengthen its life and work.

So far the Friends have concentrated on conserving the medieval plaster and wall paintings both Medieval and Georgian, which the P.C.C. could not have financed and to date have spent in excess of £50,000. However, to complete this project and to put in hand several other urgent repairs/replacements the Friends and the P.C.C. need to raise a further £140,000.

Please join us and help to preserve this ancient building and its artifacts for future generations to enjoy. The annual fees are small and membership entitles you to receive an annual newsletter and an invitation to the yearly Festival of St. Leodegarius, held annually on the first Saturday in October. This Eucharist celebration is followed by a lunch (provided for a modest fee) followed by a short A.G.M. and a talk by an eminent speaker.
